Welcome to my personal website. It is intended as a starting point to get you to my other Internet based content and give you a little background information about me.

I work in the IT industry here in the UK and I think it's fair to say that I love technology, gadgets, computers and communication. I was lucky enough to get involved with an Internet Service Provider (Sonnet Internet) when I was just 16 where I got my foundation in TCP/IP, communications and networking from a mentor who really believed in me.

I studied at the University of Westminster and graduated in 2001 with an Upper Second Class Honours (2:1) degree in Computer Comminications and Networking (BSc).

I now live in Harefield, west London with my girlfriend of over 10 years, Suzanne who is a freelance Film & TV Electrician.

  Work...
I am Technical Director at Portal - an IBM Premier Partner. This involves many responsibilities - but primarily I provide Technical Leadership across the Portal business and am a member of the company Exec. My role also involves front line customer delivery as a consultant and senior solution architect.

Through Portal, I often deliver work as a contracted consultant for IBM Software Services for Lotus (ISSL) and I currently have responsibility for ownership of this relationship between ourselves and IBM.

In 2010, a new company was formed from Portal called "Appogee". This business was formed primarily to pursue the opportunity with Google in the current market. Many companies are looking at cloud based services so whilst I am a specialist in the IBM Lotus Brand, I also have an interest in Google. Because of this, I an occasionally subcontracted to Appogee by Portal Partnership which helps me maintain my fairly unique set of skills.

Lastly there is DSNet Hosting Limited which I founded with a friend Bryn Wales and now own 100% myself. Its a small company that provides hosting of servers on the Internet, Consulting and associated services.

My full CV is available on request for specific contract work or alternatively see my LinkedIn Page if you are interested! See my Contact page for details on how to get in touch.

Well, like many people in my kind of job, Computers and Networking is also a hobby. My network at home probably has more resilience than most corporates and my desk has been likened to mission control with it's four screens mounted around the desk!

I acheived my Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award when I was younger which then led me to become qualified to lead groups with the Basic Expedition Leadership Award (BEL). I work as a volunteer with the RBWM Outdoor Education Project in Maidenhead through whom I obtained my Walking Group Leader Award (WGL) and BCU Level 2 Canoeing Coach qualification awards. These qualifications allow me to work with Duke of Edinburgh's Award groups and other young people and help them acheieve their own goals.

In addition to the voluntary work I do here, I was also part of a charity project group who travelled to Malawi in October 2010. We worked with a small local community to build a kitchen and toilets for an Orphan Feeding Centre. The project was great experience and you can read about it at http://www.malawi2010.com
